Thriveseed Responsible Tourism
The Thriveseed Team is very excited to announce our newest project aiming to empower residents of the slums in the West of New Delhi: Thriveseed Responsible Tourism.
This project, launched in 2017, enables former Thriveseed pupils to earn money by working as tour organisers. This not only provides former Thriveseed students with an income that they would not have otherwise had, but it also encourages current Thriveseed students to pursue their education to a high level so that they develop the maths, English and Hindi writing skills necessary to carry out this type of work.
The great thing about organising a tour of New Delhi - or anywhere in the north of India - through Thriveseed is that it can be completely personalised. You can choose the quality of the hotels you stay in, the modes of transport that you use, whether to be accompanied by a native Indian tour guide and the cities or monuments you wish to visit, all with the expert advice of one of the Thriveseed team. Together you can put together your ideal tour plan and former Thriveseed students can make this become a reality. As for the price, our former students will get you the best rates they can, which will be significantly cheaper than many foreign tour companies can offer.
Examples of possible tours!
Golden Triangle tour
The Golden Triangle tourist circuit encompasses New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. You can choose from the many amazing monuments to visit in New Delhi, visit the Taj Mahal in Agra and get a taste of Rajasthani culture in Jaipur. This tour is one of the most popular amongst foreign tourists and it's not hard to see why!
Yoga and Meditation tour of Rishikesh
Situated in the Himalayan foothills and next to the stunning Ganges River, Rishikesh is famous worldwide for its yoga. Former Thriveseed students are able to organise trips to Rishikesh to study and immerse oneself in yoga and meditation.
Tour of the Delhi slums
Former Thriveseed students also offer guided tours of the Delhi slums, so that visitors can experience firsthand the conditions that many of our students and their families live in. As part of this tour you can learn how to make authentic chai and even be fitted for a Saree made by the women on our women's empowerment programme if you wish!
